Upstart Theatre exists to develop and produce exciting, entertaining and challenging new theatre which helps us understand the world and the society we live in. Often working in small venues on minimal budgets, we survive thanks to a combination of box office receipts, the commitment and talent of our volunteer casts and production teams, and the generosity of our supporters. Our most recent full production, Oh Well Never Mind Bye by Steven Lally, was supported by individuals including Sir Tom Stoppard, Sir Ian McKellen, Sir Derek Jacobi and Sir Robert Marshall-Andrews MP, as well as by the many artists and members of the public who participated in our fundraising events.
