Following the initial success of Theatre Speed Date for writers and directors, this unique networking event with a dating twist returns on 21st March at The Young Vic, this time for directors and producers. Designed as a fun fuelled way to spark new relationships, ten producers and ten directors will have the opportunity to talk for three minutes before a bell rings and partnerships change.

This event is for producers who wish to form strong relationships with directors – both experienced producers who are looking for a director for a specific project and for those who want to collaborate for the first time. The Young Vic will be collecting directors from the Director’s Network to take part in the event, ranging from recent graduates to seasoned professionals.

Theatre Speed Date will be accompanied by wine and nibbles and followed by the opportunity to join the Upstart team in the Young Vic bar. Participants are asked to bring business cards to the event and can also take a portfolio of work if they wish.

Upstart Theatre believes in the crucial importance of building relationships between theatre makers and is a charity committed to the creation of compelling and entertaining new theatre.

You will need to include a short paragraph about your training, related experience or most recent professional project. Producers from a range of backgrounds will be invited to take part.

Upstart cannot promise love at first sight, but can guarantee inspiring and fruitful connections between theatre makers.
