Upstart Theatre is dedicated to developing and producing theatre that provokes argument and discussion about our society.

New writing is at the centre of our work. We consistently give new and emerging writers, actors and directors opportunities to create work which responds to and interrogates the world around us.

We seek to expand our activities to include further writer development, work with communities, and reinterpretations of classic plays that have direct relevance to the world we live in today.
